Ranks

Each members’ position in TDC is determined by their participation (or lack of).
This includes:
1. Checking in on the Roll Call channel on our Discord server every week.
2. Attending an event in any given month.

NOTE: Messaging activity in our Discord server does not count towards activity.

I.E. a new member, just after completing their recruitment period, may rise in the Rank Scale based on their participation (activity) with TDC, all the way up to Board Member Status (or even into the Command Staff provided there is a vacancy and they are elected), or they may fall down to Distracted or Disinterested Member Status if they become less active with TDC. Or even removed if their participation is low enough. They might even rise from an Outbound Member Status all the way back up to Board Member Status if they increase their engagement with TDC. Each members’ rank relies solely on how much effort they wish to exert in participating with TDC.

A base line is established in the first 3 months of the Recruitment Period. After which a member may move up or down on the scale according to the previous months’ activity logged.

Any member may notify of a “leave of absence” for any month they have determined they will not be able to attend.
ALL “leave of absence” notifications will be accepted without question!
If TWO “leave of absence” notifications are made within a 3 month period, the member will be immediately moved to the next rank below their current rank on the scale
The “leave of absence” mechanic is used to secure a members position should “real life” prevent their attendance, however it is also limited. This is to prevent perpetual use given its nature as “accepted without question”.
“leave of absence” notifications should be made to anyone on the Board or on the Command Staff, BEFORE the event in question happens. Otherwise the member will be logged as absent from the event.
LEAVE OF ABSENCE REQUESTS MUST BE MADE EITHER IN PERSON, OR BY A DIRECT MESSAGE TO A BOARD MEMBER, DIRECTOR,OR COMMAND STAFF
Indicating on the “Event Listing RSVP reaction that you are NOT attending the event is not sufficient for a “Leave of Absence” request
-IT IS THE DUTY OF THE PERSON INFORMED TO INFORM THEIR COLLEGUES-

–Anyone under 18 may NOT be allowed into TDC without being accompanied by their parent/guardian. Both parent/guardian and child must be active airsoft players and active members according to their status in TDC. Anyone under 18 MAY ONLY be invited to join TDC, IF their parent/guardian are already members of TDC. (The invited child must follow the same guidelines as if they were being recruited as an adult.) Anyone under 18 WILL be removed from TDC if their parent/guardian is also removed. (either by themselves or staff) (A small hand full of TDC members under 18 were grandfathered in before these rules took effect. The carpooling rule still applies to them, however.)

This is NOT a militaristic hierarchy. This hierarchy only exists to further the existence of TDC. No member must adhere to any commands given by a member of a higher rank. Any member of any rank attempting to “Give commands” to a member of a lower rank is extremely frowned upon and may find themselves “voted off the island”. This hierarchy ONLY exists to give power to those of the highest ranks to make decisions and plot a course for the direction and management of TDC.
